You want to feel fulfilled in motherhood but…

You don’t understand why you feel on edge, irritated, and overstimulated all the time.

Even the littlest inconveniences of motherhood make you snap.

It feels almost impossible to be calm and collected when everything seems out of your control.

Everyone else seems to be enjoying this, so when you struggle you feel like something is wrong with you.

It feels impossible to balance all your different roles, and you feel like you’re not doing any of them well.

The mom guilt eats at you every time you feel like you’re not “enjoying every moment” or when you turn on the TV just to get a moment of peace.

You don’t understand why you’re having such a hard time bonding with your baby.

You’re constantly worrying about your child(ren) and wondering if you’re doing it “right”.

Maternal Mental Health Therapy in Mesa, AZ can help you…

𑁍 Let go of the mom guilt and stop pressuring yourself to do everything perfectly and “enjoy every moment”.

𑁍 Speak up for what you need and get more support without the guilt or resentment building up.

𑁍 Become more flexible and confident even when things are out of your control or aren’t going your way.

𑁍 Find ways to calm your nervous system so you don’t snap at every little inconvenience.

𑁍 Have a space that is just about taking care of you and fill your cup so you can show up as your best self.

How Do You Know When You Need Therapy for
Maternal Mental Health?

Sometimes as moms it is easy to put ourselves last on the list of people to take care of. You deserve support too, and it is important to show up for yourself just like you would for the other people in your life that you love.

If you’re starting to feel burnt out, resentful, irritated, or anxious, it is likely time to consider scheduling an appointment.

Yes, motherhood is hard, but it can get easier with some support! Therapy can set a solid foundation so that you can become the kind of mom you want to be and confidently cope with the challenges you experience.

It is possible to feel fulfilled and happy around your kids again, and you don’t have to figure it out alone!

Therapy gives you a space that is just for you where you can finally exhale. In therapy, you don’t have to hold it all together, filter your thoughts or minimize your feelings. You will get to be seen and heard without judgement. Even more than that, in therapy we will:

  • Identify the patterns that are keeping you stuck and how to break out of them.

  • Learn concrete coping, communication and emotional regulation skills to help you calm your nervous system and meet your goals.

  • Look at ways that your past experiences are influencing your behavior and help you heal from those experiences (EMDR can be helpful with this).

My Approach to
Maternal Mental Health

As a mom of two young kids myself, I get it. I know how beautiful and overwhelming motherhood can be. I understand the exhaustion, the guilt and pressure to “do it all”, and I am here to support you. I have worked with countless other moms that have struggled with these things and I have helped them enjoy motherhood and show up as the kind of mom they want to be.

Here is what our work together will normally look like:

I get to know you better and we clarify your goals for therapy and what methods would best help. We identify the patterns that are not working for you and ways to change them.

1

I support you in learning skills to regulate your emotions, calm your anxiety, and stay grounded and kind to yourself even when things feel out of your control.

2

If applicable, we process past experiences that may be contributing to the challenging patterns showing up in motherhood. This will help us address the root of the issue. EMDR can be very useful for this!

3

You continue to crush your goals and build up confidence. We start to meet less often until you don’t need me anymore!
